Taxi
If you want to have a comfortable and safe journey in Cancun, you can take a taxi. This delightful airport journey takes only 20 minutes.
Bus
If you want to go to the airport by bus, you need to go to the terminal in the city center, which is the first departure point of the buses. The ADO buses providing airport transportation service from 04:30 am to 11 pm departs every 45 minutes maximum.
Rent a car
You can rent a car online from Budget, Enterprise, Alamo, Avis and Hertz, which make procedures even easier with online car rental service, and you can deliver the rental car here once you arrive at the airport.
Airport Information
Cancun Airport, Mexico’s second busiest airport, covers a very large area. The airport has three separate two-storey terminals; Terminal 1 is used for private flights, Terminal 2 is used for regional flights, and Terminal 3 is used for international flights. The terminals provide opportunities for basic needs such as pharmacy, lost property office and health center as well as lifts between the floors and access to ATMs.
Wireless internet is available free of charge at all terminals. It is possible to come across a wide variety of shopping stores at the airport. You can shop at Aldeasa Perfumery in cosmetics section and Convenience Store in books and magazines section, especially at Aldeasa Duty Free store. In the foods and drinks area, you can find the brands of various world cuisines as well as you can enjoy eating in the fast-food area. The city center is located Velasco only 3 kilometers to the west of Astete Airport. The transportation needs of the passengers at the airport are met with taxi, rental cars and minibuses.
Taxi
The Llama taxi company is the only company at Velasco Astete Airport with the permission to carry passengers, and has a fixed transportation fare. Apart from this company, the local taxis that are waiting outside the airport can take you to the city center at more reasonable prices. Airport authorities recommend using vehicles under their control at the taxi stands, to avoid problems with local taxis.
Minibus
It is not possible to find public transport within the airport. To get to the public transport you need to walk about 5 minutes to Pecsa Station opposite the airport. You must remember to exchange money from the exchange bureaus located at the airport because you need to pay for the shuttle minibuses with the Peru currency Nuevo Sol.
Car Rental
The Hertz car rental company works 24 hours a day for passengers who want to rent private cars at the airport. You can rent your car on a weekly or daily basis and deliver it either in the city center or at the airport.
