About Honiara

Honiara, located on the north coast of the Guadalcanal Island, is the capital city of the Solomon Islands. Honiara replaced the old capital, Tulagi, after World War II. It is home to a seaport where many ships take off en route to other regions, which makes it an important destination in terms of tourism. Places of interest in the city include the cathedral and ethnic shops that sell affordable goods. Food culture in Honiara features a lot of seafood and vegetables and international cuisine, since it is a tourist destination. Due to the fact that it is a lesser-developed country, the most important source of income is fishing and the country imports its petroleum products.

Until 1998 timber was their main export. There is an abundance of tropical fruits in Honiara, with a lot of coconuts and date palm oil. The islands have rich mineral resources like lead, zinc, and nickel. Honiara has a tropical climate, with significant rainfall, a lot of wind, and hot summers. Honiara is a great option as a holiday destination. Honiara has a vibrant and fun nightlife, with clubs that play music until late hours of the night.
