Lincoln is located in the U.S state of Nebraska. Established in 1856 as a village named Lachester, the city was recognized as the state capital in 1867.
The city has a humid terrestrial climate and has four seasons. The summer is quite hot with an average of 30C/86F in the summer, but it is also the summer months when rain is most visible. In winter the temperature drops to 5C/40F and snowfall is frequent. The most suitable time to visit the city is April, September and October when the amount of precipitation decreases and the temperature falls to around 20C/68F.
Almost all of Lincoln is made up of streets and avenues that extend in straight lines and cross each other at 90 degrees. All roads are named with letters and numbers. The funding of the observatory is provided with donations and all of the employees are volunteers. Alice Abel Arboretum, which will never disappoint nature lovers, is built on an area of about 10 hectares and hosts hundreds of trees and plants. Apart from that, Sunken Gardens with its landscaping, and Holmes Lake which offers an ideal trekking environment, where you can observe ducks and other wildlife in peaceful surroundings.
Lincoln is home to many museums. There are museums that convey information and visuals on extraordinary topics such as crafts for children, quilt work, racing cars, telephones, skates, as well as urban history, natural history and art. While you are in Lincoln, you should try to spend the time to visit one of the museums at least.
Lincoln, as a university town, has a very young population. This situation also revives the nightlife of the city. There are many bars and clubs in the city, and most of them are located around O Street.
