About Oran

San Ramon de la Nueva Oran (usually referred to simply as Oran) is a city in Argentina. Oran, which is located in the north of the Salta province, was founded on August 31, 1974 by Ramon Garcia de Leon y Pizarro who was the governor of Salta and a Spanish soldier. Oran attracts attention with its old buildings, natural beauties and areas suitable for adventure tourism.

The economy of the region where Oran is located is based on agriculture. Sugar cane, red pepper, banana, citrus fruit (especially orange and grapefruit) and coffee, in small quantities, are the most important agricultural products of the city. Salta National University is the most well-known education institution in the city. The House of Culture, which was founded in 1983, is a cultural center of the city with the services it offers.

Oran is a different travel experience for tourists with its specific structure. Some old buildings coming into prominence with their architectures and ancient ruins are the worth-seeing places. The forestland in the city where many beautiful trees and flower types grow is another place to be seen. Oran air transportation is provided with the Gobernador Horacio Guzman International Airport located in Jujuy. The airport can be reached after a two-and-a-half-hour travel from Oran city center. Flights between Istanbul and Jujuy last about 26 hours with 2 or more transfers.
