Xiamen Airport Express

Airport express is a bus that runs only between the city and the airport, seven days a week. The first ride of the bus is at 5 am in the morning and it operates until the last flight of the day. The point of departure of Xiamen Airport Express is the bus terminal in the city center.

Public Transportation

The most preferred way to reach the airport from the city center both for the residents of the city and the tourists who are in town for business or leisure is to use public transportation; because it is  both economic and environment friendly. It is possible to reach the airport by public transportation not only from the city center, but also from several different points of the city. Buses numbered 27, 37, 41, 81, 84, 91 and L9, all goes to the airport. These buses cost 1 Yuan (CNY1) per person and operate between 6 am and 10 pm.

Taxi

There about 5 thousand taxis operating in Xiamen city. It is possible to reach the airport in a comfortable and fast way from the city center by taking a taxi. Taxi service in Xiamen is much more cheaply compared to most of the tourist destinations all over the world. It would cost around 30-40 Yuan on average to reach the airport from the city center. The night tariff is valid from 11pm to 5 am in the morning; you would pay 20 per cent more compared to day tariff.

Car Rental

Renting a car in Xiamen is one of the most ideal ways to see the city and reach the airport on your flight day. There are many car rental companies in the city. If you are going to deliver the car at the airport, please note that companies like Avis, Shenzou and Henghaou have offices at the airport. These companies serve the passengers on a daily basis during the week from 9 am to 21 pm.

Shuttle

If you have preferred a Xiamen hotel during your stay, you might ask for a shuttle service from your hotel. Most of the hotels in Xiamen provide free or paid shuttle service to their guests. Consider this option in order to have a fast and comfortable trip to the airport from the city center.

Airport Information

Located in the north of Xiamen Island, Xiamen Gaoqi Airport is the 11th busiest airport in China in terms of passenger traffic. The airport has two terminals, T3 and T4, and is getting closed after the last flight of the day. This is why the passengers are not let to stay in the airport during the night.
